How to cook delicious california maki

If you're interested in Japanese cuisine, you know that california roll doesn't come from the land of the rising sun. But, contrary to what one might imagine, this one does not come from California either! This little western maki was actually born in Canada!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise

  • 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame

  • 40g avocado

  • 2 surimi

  • 30g of fish egg (tobiko)

  • 2 nori sheets

  • 170g of sushi rice

Directions

  • Place half a sheet of nori seaweed in a bamboo mat in the upper half, place the rice fairly regularly on the seaweed.
  • Put a little sesame on the rice.
  • Cover the rice with the second half of the bamboo mat and turn the bamboo mat over and open it again.
  • Put mayonnaise in the middle of the seaweed sheet.
  • Add pieces of surimi and avocado.
  • Roll everything (lengthwise) like a maki with the bamboo mat.
  • Remove the bamboo mat and cut the roll into 6 pieces.
  • And now, it’s ready!!!

Notes

  • Goes very well with soy sauce and for big appetites with sushi rice.
