The consequences of drought-stricken rivers are far-reaching and devastating, disrupting shipping, agriculture, and ecosystems, and raising concerns about drinking water supplies.
These events are not isolated incidents but rather a harbinger of worsening climate consequences that will intensify as global warming drives droughts, heatwaves, and extreme weather events. The impact on our rivers will have far-reaching effects on human health, the economy, and the environment.
