US Anti-Asian Hate Crimes Decline Despite Immigration Crackdowns

The Hate Crime Numbers Don't Add Up: What's Behind the Decline? The latest FBI data on anti Asian hate crimes in the US may seem encouraging, with a 10% decline in reported incidents in 2025.

However, this decrease still represents nearly a third more than the average annual tally from 2013 to 2019.

According to the Stop AAPI Hate survey, almost half of respondents claimed to have been targeted by hate crimes, but many were too afraid to report these incidents due to fear of repercussions in an era of increased immigration crackdowns.
