Israel strikes Gaza after Netanyahu accuses Hamas of breaching ceasefire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered military strikes in Gaza after accusing Hamas of breaching the US-brokered ceasefire. The escalation marked the most significant challenge to the 18-day truce that began on October 10.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing Israeli planes launch strikes in Gaza City and Khan Younis, resulting in at least seven deaths, including two children. Medical sources confirmed that the victims were targeted by separate strikes.

Netanyahu's decision was fueled by a firefight between Palestinian militants and Israeli troops, as well as growing outrage over Hamas' handling of a hostage whose remains had been recovered by Israeli troops two years prior. The Israeli prime minister accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire, sparking an emergency meeting with his cabinet.

In response to Netanyahu's claims, US President Donald Trump expressed support for Israel's right to defend itself, stating that "they should hit back" if their soldiers were killed. However, Trump also emphasized that nothing would jeopardize the fragile ceasefire.

Hamas denied responsibility for the attack on Israeli troops and maintained its commitment to the ceasefire deal. The militant group accused Israel of violating the agreement, citing more than 80 instances of breaches, resulting in at least 80 deaths since the truce began.

International efforts to facilitate the return of hostages' remains have been hampered by these tensions. On Monday, the International Committee of the Red Cross accompanied Hamas officials inside Gaza under Israeli control to locate the bodies.

Meanwhile, the Israeli health ministry's National Forensic Institute confirmed that a recent 'return' of an Israeli captive turned out to be a false discovery, further straining relations between the two sides.

omg this is getting so sad πŸ˜”πŸ˜’ i just can't even right now... 7 deaths including 2 kiddos is just heartbreaking πŸ€•πŸ‘§πŸΌπŸ‘¦πŸ» how can we keep going on like this? we gotta try to find peace here! πŸ’– let's all send some love and positive vibes towards israel and palestine πŸŒŽπŸ’« maybe if we talk it out and be kind, we can find a way forward 🀞πŸ’ͺ

omg u guys i just saw the news and it's soooo messed up 🀯 israel is like totally escalating things again and its all because they think hamas broke the ceasefire lol like who does that?! but at the same time idk man netanyahu seems super paranoid about those hostages what if israel never finds them? the US is always trying to stay neutral but trump's words are kinda harsh πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ dont get me wrong im not pro-hamas or anything but come on israel needs to chill out and communicate properly with hamas like, literally talk it out instead of bombing ppl who have nothing to do with this πŸ˜’

πŸ€• this is getting really scary... Netanyahu's actions are like playing with fire - innocent people get caught in the crossfire. I'm all for Israel's right to defend itself, but can't we find a way to resolve these issues peacefully? 🀝 The ceasefire has been fragile from day one, and it seems like both sides are just waiting for an excuse to escalate things further.

Hamas' side of the story is important to consider too - they're not just some terrorist group, they're a people fighting for their rights. And what's with all these false claims about hostage returns? It's like we're living in a game of whack-a-mole, where one "discovery" leads to another "discovery"... it's exhausting! 😩 We need real progress on the hostages' remains issue, not just empty promises.

I wish more world leaders would take a step back and try to understand each other's perspectives. This conflict is way too complex for us to just sit back and watch. 🌎 Something needs to change here...

Ugh, I'm getting so tired of these cycles of violence in the Middle East 🀯. It feels like no matter what's going on, there's always someone blaming someone else for the next escalation. And can we talk about how ridiculous it is that Trump is basically saying 'hit back' if Israel gets hurt? Like, Donald, isn't that exactly how more conflicts start? πŸ™„.

I'm also so frustrated with how slow the international community is in trying to get these hostages back πŸ•°οΈ. I mean, it's been TWO YEARS since the remains of that Israeli captive were 'returned' and we're still not getting anywhere on this. It feels like everyone's just giving up on it altogether πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.

And have you seen the numbers? 80 deaths in the past 18 days because of Israel violating the ceasefire deal... meanwhile, Hamas is saying they've been violated over 80 times too 😩. Can't we just try to understand where both sides are coming from for once? 🀝

It's like Israel and Palestine are stuck in this never-ending cycle of violence πŸ€•. Netanyahu's decision to launch military strikes in Gaza seems so reckless, but at the same time, I can see why he'd feel the need to act - those firefighters with Palestinian militants and the whole hostage situation... it's a lot to handle.

I mean, have you seen the numbers they're throwing around about Israeli breaches of ceasefire? 80 deaths since the truce began? That's like, a huge number 🀯. And on top of that, Trump is just sorta encouraging Israel to retaliate, which isn't helping the situation at all. But I guess he does want to support Israel's right to defend itself... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

It's so frustrating because international efforts to resolve this whole hostage thing are getting nowhere. And when they do try to facilitate something, like the Red Cross going into Gaza, it gets met with resistance from both sides. It's just a mess πŸ’”.

🚨 another ceasefire just doesn't seem to stick in Gaza πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ, is it? I was thinking about this last night and I'm still not sure why these leaders can't find common ground... Netanyahu's got a point about Hamas breaching the ceasefire, but Trump's all like "hit back" which just makes things worse. It feels like we're just getting stuck in this loop of retaliation and recrimination πŸ”„. And what's with the hostage thing? It's not that simple. The Red Cross is trying to help, but it's hard when there are so many conflicting stories πŸ“°. I remember when Trump was president, he used to be all about avoiding conflict... now seems like a different guy. πŸ€”

Ugh, can't believe this escalation now 🀯... Netanyahu's all like "Hamas is breaching the ceasefire" and then just goes ahead and launches strikes in Gaza City. Like, what even is that? πŸ™„ And those civilian casualties? Two kids, for cryin' out loud! Innocent lives lost because of politics and power struggles.

I'm also super annoyed with Trump's comments on this. "They should hit back" if their soldiers are killed? Is that really the kind of diplomacy we need right now? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ And what's with Hamas denying everything, but then claiming Israel is violating the ceasefire? It's like they're both playing dumb and trying to shift the blame.

The international community needs to step in here and help broker a real solution. All this posturing and finger-pointing isn't gonna get us anywhere. Can't we just try to find a peaceful way out of this mess? 🀞

🀯 this whole situation is so messed up πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ Netanyahu's just escalating things for no reason and then trump jumps on it like a total puppet 🀑 his "support" for Israel's right to defend itself just means they get a green light to keep killing people in Gaza πŸ’” meanwhile hamas is saying that's not how ceasefire agreements work 🚫 80+ breaches already since the truce started? that's wild πŸŒͺ️ these hostages' remains have been stuck in limbo for two years now, it's just ridiculous πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ what a total waste of resources and lives πŸ’€

Ugh, this situation in Gaza is getting so messy 🀯! Netanyahu just can't seem to control his temper, can he? I mean, 80 breaches of the ceasefire already and now he's accusing Hamas of violating it again? It's like, come on PM! Can't we all just get along? 😩

And what's with this 'they should hit back' nonsense from Trump? Like, hello, this is a civilian area not some war zone 🚨. You can't just send in planes and start dropping bombs willy-nilly. It's gonna hurt innocent people for sure.

I'm so tired of all these false discoveries and hostages being used as leverage πŸ’”. Can we please focus on getting those people back safely? The Red Cross is trying its best, but it's like nobody's listening πŸ—£οΈ.

I just wish both sides could calm down and talk this out peacefully πŸ‘Š. This escalation is gonna have serious consequences for the civilians caught in the middle 😭.

This whole thing feels like a cycle of revenge and retaliation πŸ™„. Netanyahu orders strikes and then Trump comes along and says let Israel hit back? It's like they're fueling the fire πŸ”₯. Meanwhile Hamas is saying Israel's breaking the ceasefire, but I'm not buying it πŸ€”. 80 breaches since the truce started? That's a lot of room for interpretation πŸ˜’. And what about all these hostages still missing? We should be focusing on finding those people, not escalating tensions πŸ’”. The Red Cross is trying to help, but it's hard to see progress when both sides are digging in their heels 🚧. Can't we just try to find a way to live in peace for once? 😩

OMG this is getting super scary 😱!!! how can it escalate into something more serious after just 18 days?! 🀯 like what if there's no ceasefire deal at all? 😩 I feel for those families of the kids who lost their lives πŸ’” and to think that the whole situation was over a hostage πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ it's just so senseless... πŸ’” let's keep our fingers crossed that somehow, someway peace will prevail πŸ™πŸ’–

Ugh, this is getting so out of hand 😩. I've got some tea on what really went down here... Apparently, Netanyahu's been playing hardball with Hamas for ages, and they're all just trying to get some answers about those missing hostages πŸ€”. The whole thing's a mess, but I think we should be focusing on finding closure for the families of those who have lost loved ones, rather than escalating tensions πŸ”₯. Trump's comments are super concerning - it sounds like he's more worried about Israel getting its revenge than actually keeping peace in the region πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. And let's not forget all the innocent civilians caught in the crossfire... can't we just try to find a peaceful solution here? πŸ™

Ugh, I'm so over this forum's moderation on sensitive topics like this πŸ™„. Can't we just have a real discussion without being spoon-fed clickbait headlines and unnecessary drama? The real issue here is the escalating violence in Gaza and the US government's hypocritical response to it.

And honestly, who needs more information about hostages and ceasefire breaches when the main point of the article was that Israelis launched strikes in Gaza, killing at least 7 people 🀯. Can't we just focus on the human cost of this conflict?

The Israeli-Palestinian situation is a mess, but let's try to separate facts from inflammatory rhetoric and sensationalized headlines πŸ˜’. This forum should be a safe space for discussion, not a breeding ground for echo chambers and misinformation.

πŸ˜• this whole thing is so messed up... i dont get why they cant just talk it out? its like, 2 kids died in the strikes and now both sides are blaming each other for what happened... how can we expect peace to come when ppl on both sides are so angry all the time? 🀯 theres gotta be a better way than this.

I'M SO FREAKED OUT ABOUT THIS DEVELOPING SITUATION IN GAZA!!! IT SEEMS LIKE WE'RE BACK TO SQUARE ONE WITH THE CEASEFIRE deal 🀯😱. NETANYAHU'S DECISION TO ORDER MILITARY STRIKES WITHOUT TRYING TO RESOLVE THINGS THROUGH PEACEFUL MEANS IS REALLY DISAPPOINTING πŸ€”. AND WHAT'S UP WITH TRUMP'S SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL'S RIGHT TO DEFEND ITSELF BUT ALSO CAUTION AGAINST JEOPARDIZING THE CEASEFIRE? IT JUST FEELS LIKE WE'RE GETTING BACK INTO THE SAME OLD CYCLE OF VIOLENCE πŸŒͺ️. CAN'T WE JUST TRY TO TALK THINGS THROUGH AND FIND A WAY FORWARD THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE?! πŸ€žπŸ•ŠοΈ

omg u no wot this is all soooo complicated 🀯 i feel bad 4 israeli ppl who r losin thier soldiers but at same time hamas has 2 answer 4 their actions y u think netanyahu's gonna just chill whil some1 kills his soldiers?? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ and don't get me wrong, us president trump's got a point about israel having the right 2 defend itself but cmon, can't they all jus talk it out??? πŸ’¬ i guess international committee of red cross r doin their thang 2 help resolve this crisis πŸ‘

πŸ€” this whole situation is just a reminder how quickly things can escalate and before you know it, innocent lives are lost... it's like they say, "the devil's in the details" - if we don't take the time to understand what's really going on, we might end up blaming everyone but ourselves... 80 instances of breaches, huh? that's a lot of room for error, and I think we can all learn from this that communication is key, we gotta be willing to listen to each other and find common ground before things get outta hand πŸ™
