It Walks Around the House at Night review – jump scares and spine tingles as a pretend ghost gets really spooked

I just watched this play and I'm still shivering 😅. The way they blended gothic literature with modern horror was pure genius! I love how it starts off as a simple ghost story but takes a dark turn into existential introspection 🤯. The sound design was insane, I felt like I was right there with Joe, experiencing all the jump scares and creepy moments 🎃. And can we talk about Neil Bettles' direction? He's a master of building tension, it's like he knew exactly when to hit you with the scares 😱. My only criticism is that some plot threads were a bit rushed, but overall, this play was an absolute thrill ride from start to finish! 👻
 
Omg I'm literally shook after watching this play! The way they wove together the eerie atmosphere with modern horror was pure genius 😱👻 ThickSkin's production had me on the edge of my seat, literally jumping out of my seat during those intense jump scares 🤯. And can we talk about Paul Hilton's narration? It added an extra layer of unease to the whole experience, making it even harder to look away from the screen 🔍. The way they tackled themes of class privilege and exploitation was really thought-provoking too - it made me think about how these issues are still relevant today 🤔. One thing that did bug me a bit was how some plot threads got condensed, but overall I'm so impressed with ThickSkin's production skills 💯. Can't wait to see what they come up with next! 👏

I mean, who wouldn't want to be scared out of their wits in a creepy old house? 🏠😱 And the themes of class privilege and exploitation were super thought-provoking 🤔. But seriously, some of those jump scares had me screaming like a lunatic 😂👻. The only thing that kept it from being perfect was how condensed some of the plot threads were - I wanted to see more of what was going on with the supernatural stuff 🧙‍♂️. Still, 10/10 would recommend if you're a fan of spine-tingling thrills 😱👏
