Koala’s Wanda 4-in-1 Sofa Bed Is Versatile, but Is It Comfortable?

Koala's latest furniture release, the Wanda 4-in-1 Sofa Bed, boasts a unique "quad-threat" design that combines a couch with a daybed, reversible chaise, and queen-size slide-out bed. But does it deliver on comfort?

In an effort to test its mettle, I spent a whole week sleeping on the Wanda in my small upstairs home office, where it occupied half of the room due to its size. With two small dogs and a husband joining me, the setup was cozy but not ideal for a full night's sleep.

The sofa bed arrived in four large boxes that required help moving, especially if you have stairs to navigate. Each box weighed anywhere from 47 pounds to 104 pounds, which I struggled with on my own. Once assembled, the Wanda proved sturdy and stable, thanks to its steel frame, FSC-certified MDF legs, and recycled polyester upholstery.

However, during testing, I found some areas for improvement. The backrest cushions were tilted for easy lounging, but this design created unevenness under the mattress topper when set up as a bed. Additionally, the firmness level was too high for my liking, akin to an extra-firm bed like the Plank Firm.

The Kloudcell mattress topper, which aimed to provide extra comfort and pressure relief, fell short due to its thin foam design. In contrast, my husband adored the Wanda's firm feel, as it supported his spine well due to mild scoliosis.

Ultimately, while the Wanda's motion isolation was great, its overall performance as a bed was marred by firmness issues and some minor design quirks. As a mattress tester, I would recommend using the Wanda for short-term sleeping solutions or as a couch-bed combo for lounging – but not indefinitely for support's sake.

In terms of value, Koala offers four upholstery colors to choose from, including recycled polyester ticking that adds a nubby texture and is prone to pilling. Cleaning the fabric is spot-clean only, with weekly vacuuming recommended.

For those seeking a versatile and space-saving furniture piece, the Wanda 4-in-1 Sofa Bed may be an excellent option – especially for small rooms or guest spaces. However, if comfort and support are top priorities, it's essential to weigh these benefits against its limitations as a bed.

🤔 i've had my fair share of weird furniture purchases, but koala's wanda sofa bed is something else lol... 4-in-1 design sounds like a dream come true, but in reality, it feels like a compromise on comfort. I mean, who needs to slide out of bed every morning? 🤦‍♀️ at the same time, i can see the appeal for small spaces or guest rooms... anyone else tried this thing out? what's your verdict? 👀

🤔🛋️ I think Koala hit the nail on the head with this 4-in-1 sofa bed concept, even if it didn't quite get the comfort factor right 🙄. As someone who's struggled with firm mattresses, I can relate to the extra-firm feel being a bit off-putting 😓. And yeah, pilling on the fabric is definitely a thing to consider 💅. But hey, for short-term sleeping or lounging, this thing could be a lifesaver 🛋️👍! Just don't expect it to cradle your body like a cloud 👌.

For all you space savers out there, I say go for it and see how the Wanda 4-in-1 Sofa Bed works for you 🤝. And Koala's got some solid design points going on with that steel frame and recycled materials 📈. One tiny tweak to address those comfort concerns could make this thing a real showstopper 🔥!

omg I'm OBSESSED with the new Koala furniture drop! 🤩 The Wanda 4-in-1 Sofa Bed is literally the most genius design ever - who needs a separate daybed when you can slide out a queen-size bed? 😂 It's perfect for small homes or guest rooms, and I love that it comes in four different colors. My only concern is the firmness level - I'm a total softie, so if I were going to spend too much time on this thing, I'd want a more plush feel 🤗

I gotta say, I'm kinda underwhelmed by this new Koala sofa bed thingy 🤔🛋️. I mean, four-in-one design sounds great on paper, but in practice, it feels like they cut some corners to save space and cash 💸. My issue is the firmness level - I prefer a softer mattress for a comfy sleep, and this one's too hard even with the extra topper 🤕.

I also don't love how it looks, to be honest 😐. The recycled polyester fabric is nice, but it pilling easily and can look kinda tacky after a while 💔. And don't even get me started on assembly - those heavy boxes are a nightmare to move around the house! 🏃‍♀️

That being said, if you're short on space or just need a couch bed for lounging, I guess this Wanda thing could be okay 😐. Just don't expect it to give you the best sleep ever 💤.

I gotta say, I'm loving this new Wanda sofa bed design, but honestly, it feels like we're stuck in the 90s with all these different pieces that need to be put together 🤯. Like, who thought having four separate parts was a good idea? My old IKEA MALM bed had only one part and I loved it. And don't even get me started on the weight of those boxes - 104 pounds?! That's like moving a small car 🚗.

And I'm not sure about the firmness level... I mean, I'm all for a good night's sleep, but this feels like sleeping on a cloud that's been sat on by an elephant. My husband likes it though, so I guess it's all about compromise. But still, can't we just have one nice, comfy bed that doesn't require a Ph.D. in engineering to assemble? 😴

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole sofa-bed thing... I mean, who needs a full night's sleep when you can have a couch that doubles as a slide-out bed? 🤯 It just goes to show how we've become so accustomed to compromise in our daily lives. We settle for 'good enough' because it's just easier that way. But is 'good enough' ever really good enough?

And what does this say about our relationship with comfort, anyway? Are we willing to sacrifice a little bit of luxury for the sake of convenience? Or are we just too scared to splurge on something that might be 'too good to be true'? I think it's time to reevaluate what we consider 'good enough' and start valuing those little things in life... like a decent night's sleep 😴

I've been eyeing this sofa bed for ages 🛋️... the quad-threat design looks so cool! But reading this review, I think I need to rethink my decision. Firmness issues can be a real problem, and it's not ideal for long-term sleeping. Maybe it's better suited for guests or just lounging around? 😐

ugh i love koalas tho 🐨😂 but seriously, the wanda 4-in-1 sofa bed sounds like a great space-saving idea...like who needs all that extra room anyway? 💤👍 however, firmness issues kinda bummer 🤕, especially if you're someone like me who likes a soft bed to sleep on 😴 i mean, i get it tho, some ppl need the support, but idk man...i'd wanna try out this thing before committing to buying it 💸👀

OMG 😂 I can totally relate to the Koala sofa bed struggles! I recently got one too and I was like "what have I done?" 🤣 The adjustable headrest is a total game-changer tho 👏, makes me feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud 💨. But yeah, it's not perfect, my hubby's been complaining about the firmness level too 😴. Maybe we can just agree to use them for guest nights and lounge time only? 🤝

uGH, this thing is literally a logistical nightmare 🤯... four huge boxes that need help moving up stairs? no thanks! i mean, i get it, its 4-in-1 design and all, but thats not exactly what i'd call "space-saving". and dont even get me started on the weight - i'm pretty sure i strained my back trying to move one of those things 🤕... and the firmness level is just too high for me? come on, koala, how hard can it be to make a decent mattress?! 😒

You know what's crazy about Koalas, they're like the ultimate laid-back Australians 🐨😎. I mean, can you imagine having to sleep on a couch that slides out into a queen-size bed? My niece has this weird thing where she sleeps with her hair tied up in a huge bun and I'm always wondering if it's gonna come undone while she's snoozing 😂. Anyway, back to Koalas, have you guys ever seen those cute videos of them just chillin' in the trees all day? They're literally like the ultimate relaxation experts 🌳💆‍♀️.

omg i had the wanda sofa bed in my home office 4eva lol 🤣 it was def comfy but not 2 much 4 sleepin @ night tho cuz the backrest cushions were tilted like that and created unevenness on the mattress topper 😴👎 the firmness level was way too high 4 me b4 i got used 2 it though! 💪 the kloudcell mattress topper was a total letdown btw 👎 didn't help w/ pressure relief @ all 💤 but for loungin and short term sleeping solutions tho? yeah def recommend it 🤗
