😊 I'm not sure if Frida's story is too intense for a ballet, but you know what? I think it's kinda cool that they're doing this "Matters of the Heart" thingy 🌟. It's like, they're trying to celebrate her life and all, but also make it into something more... artsy. I mean, surrealism is always trippy, but with Frida's story, it's like they're taking a piece of her soul and putting it on stage 💔. And hey, at least they're not just making some watered-down, Disney-fied version of her life 🎨. I love how the coreographer, Annabelle López Ochoa, is all about Frida's authenticity and stuff... it's like, yeah, Frida was all about being true to herself and not caring what others thought 💁‍♀️. But still, I'm kinda worried that this ballet might be more of a tribute than an actual interpretation 🤔. What if they're just using Frida as a prop or something? 😒

🤔 I'm so glad Frida Kahlo's life story is being used as a ballet, because what's more relatable than a woman who had to deal with physical pain and still managed to create art that's basically the definition of "tortured soul" 🌹. But seriously, Annabelle López Ochoa's "Broken Wings" sounds like an amazing tribute to Frida's legacy. I love how it's not just about her personal struggles, but also about her strength and resilience as an artist. And can we talk about the surrealism and Mexican folk music elements? That sounds like a dream come true 🌴. It's awesome that the Ballet Joffrey is pushing boundaries with this production, and I'm excited to see it! 💃

🤔 I'm all about the aesthetics, you know? And this new ballet 'Broken Wings' by Annabelle López Ochoa is giving me LIFE 🎨💥 The way they've woven together Frida's life story with dance and visuals is just genius 💫 I mean, who wouldn't want to see their art come alive on stage? 🤩 And the fact that it's a celebration of resilience and authenticity is exactly what we need more of in this world 🌎 Plus, can we talk about how cool it is that they're incorporating surreal elements and Mexican folk music? It's like a visual feast for the eyes! 🌸👀 What I'd love to see next is some better use of spacing on their website tho...

omg, just saw the trailer for this new Frida Kahlo ballet 🌹🎭 and I'm low-key obsessed! i love how they're using surrealism and folk music to bring Frida's story to life 💥 annabelle López Ochoa is a genius as always - her concept of the dancers representing Frida's paintings is pure art 🤯 can't wait for the show! "broken wings" is more than just a ballet, it's a celebration of Frida's resilience and authenticity ❤️ and that quote from López Ochoa about not wanting to be confined by hyperfemininity is everything 💁‍♀️ i need to see this ASAP!

omg, i'm so stoked to see a ballet about Frida Kahlo 🤩! annabelle lopez ochoa is a genius for creating this unique piece that combines music, dance, and visual arts 🎨. the fact that it's based on frida's life and work is already so fascinating, but adding surrealistic elements and mexican folk music will definitely make it a showstopper 💃🏻! i love how lopez ochoa aims to celebrate frida's resilience and authenticity - it's like she's saying "frida would want us to keep pushing boundaries and being true to ourselves" 💖. can't wait to see the ballet performanced on stage 🎭

idk why ppl r always tryna bring down frida's legacy 🤷‍♀️ she was a true original and a trailblazer in every sense of the word 💖 i mean, can u blame her for not conforming to societal norms? 🙄 she was ahead of her time and her art is still inspiring people today 💫 annabelle López Ochoa did an amazing job in bringing frida's story to life on stage 🎭 "broken wings" is such a powerful piece, it's like you can feel the pain and the passion of frida's artwork 🎨 i'm so glad the ballet joffrey chose to do this production, it's exactly what we need more of - art that celebrates individuality and creativity 💪

I'm telling ya, this Frida Kahlo ballet thingy is going to be soooo good 🕺🏻! I mean, who wouldn't want to see the story of her life on stage? It's like they're bringing it all back for us old folks... remember when Frida was still alive and we could see her artwork in person? 😍 Those self-portraits were just wow, you know?

And this Annabelle López Ochoa is some genius 🤓. I mean, she took a story that's already so fascinating and turned it into a ballet. It's like she captured the essence of Frida's spirit... her strength, her creativity, her... well, everything! 💖

I love how they're not just telling her story, but also celebrating her identity as a Mexican artist. That's what it's all about, you know? Breaking free from expectations and being true to oneself. And that's exactly what Frida did, even in the face of adversity.

This "Broken Wings" ballet is going to be so inspiring! I'm definitely checking it out when it comes to town 🎟️... or maybe even streaming it online, if they have it available 📺. Can't wait to see how they bring this incredible story to life on stage 💫

🤩 I'm so down for this ballet thingy, but you know what's even more interesting? The fact that they're not just stopping at Frida's life story. They're also highlighting her struggles with identity and femininity. Like, it's crazy to think about how ahead of her time she was. And I love how the coreógrafa is saying that Frida's art should transcend her as a person - that's such a beautiful message 🌸🎨

🤔 I'm so over this trend of adding 'living' personas to ballets. Like, Frida Kahlo's life is being used as a narrative device for the sake of drama and emotional manipulation. It's just not that compelling when it comes from a screen vs real-life experiences 🎥. And another thing, what's with the coreographer Annabelle López Ochoa wanting to 'surpass' the person herself? Isn't that just diminishing Frida's humanity? 🙄 The surrealism and Mexican folk music elements could've been interesting if it wasn't so obvious they were trying to recreate Frida's style.

idk why they're makin' a whole ballet about Frida, she's not even dead yet 🤷‍♀️. i mean, don't get me wrong, i love her art and all, but it feels like everyone's just tryin' to capitalize on her vibe right now. what's next? a Frida-themed brunch spot or somethin'? 🍳👀

I love this new ballet, Broken Wings is so unique and innovative 🌟🕺. Annabelle López Ochoa did an amazing job in creating a narrative that really celebrates Frida's life and art 💖. It's incredible how she wove together the surreal elements with traditional Mexican music and danced it out in such a powerful way 💥. And I gotta say, I'm loving the costumes too - they look so vibrant and colorful 🌸. The fact that this ballet is part of the "Matters of the Heart" program, which includes another beautiful story about love in Chicago, just makes my heart happy ❤️. It's like we're experiencing two sides of Frida's world through dance... I'm totally here for it! 💖

"omg, finally a ballet that doesn't put frida to sleep... i mean who wouldn't want to watch a dancer prance around in a colorful costume while pretending to be the iconic mexican artist? 🌹💃 it's actually kinda cool that they're incorporating surrealism and traditional mexican music into the piece - maybe we'll finally get to see some cultural exchange between dance and art that doesn't involve appropriation 🤔. annabelle López Ochoa sounds like a total boss, btw - i love her vision for celebrating frida's resilience and authenticity 💖. can't wait to see 'broken wings' live"

I'm so stoked about this new production of Frida Kahlo's life in 'Broken Wings' 🕊️. As a fan of the Ballet Joffrey, I was already hyped for their upcoming show, but now I know it's going to be EPIC 💥. Annabelle López Ochoa's vision is truly unique and innovative - she's taken Frida's story and turned it into this powerful dance narrative that celebrates resilience and authenticity ❤️.

I love how the production incorporates surrealistic elements and traditional Mexican music 🎶, it's like a fusion of worlds! And Peter Salem's original score is going to be amazing 🎵. What I'm most excited about is seeing the ballet bring Frida's art and life to life in this way - it's like you're witnessing her paintings come alive on stage 🎨.

The Ballet Joffrey has always been known for pushing boundaries, and 'Broken Wings' is no exception 🤯. By using dance as a way to tell Frida's story, López Ochoa is challenging the audience to see the art in a new light - that it can be more than just something you look at, but an experience that transports you to another world 🌎.

As someone who's always been fascinated by Frida's life and art, I know this production is going to be a wild ride 🎢. And if Annabelle López Ochoa is using her own words to describe the ballet - "the art should be more than the person" 💫 - then you can bet your bottom dollar it's going to be something special 🔥

I'm so stoked to see Frida Kahlo's life and art being showcased in this new ballet "Broken Wings" 🌹💖! It's amazing how Annabelle López Ochoa has woven together music, dance, and visual arts to bring Frida's story to life. The fact that she's highlighting the artist's resiliency and authenticity is totally on point 👏. I love how the ballet incorporates surrealistic elements and traditional Mexican music - it sounds like an epic celebration of Frida's Mexican heritage 🎶.

What I find really inspiring about this production is how it's going beyond just portraying a dual female identity, but also showcasing Frida's strength and individuality as an artist and a woman 🤩. It's so true what López Ochoa said - "La vida de Frida fue una lucha constante" - she was definitely a trailblazer in many ways.

I'm excited to see how the Ballet Joffrey is pushing boundaries with this new production, just like they did with their previous program "Matters of the Heart". It's amazing to think that Frida's legacy continues to inspire creatives today 🌟. Can't wait to catch a performance!

🤔 I'm not sure if Frida's story is the right fit for a ballet, you know? It's like they're trying to put her life into a box and make it all pretty and performance-y... I mean, don't get me wrong, Annabelle López Ochoa's work on "Broken Wings" looks super innovative and cool 🎨💥. But can we talk about how Frida's experiences are being reduced to just dance and music? I feel like her life was so much more than that. Like, have you seen her self-portraits? Those were some deep, emotional works of art 💔. Don't get me wrong, I love Frida as much as the next person, but I think we need to be careful not to oversimplify her story for the sake of entertainment. 🤷‍♀️

I think the Ballet Joffrey's new production, 'Broken Wings', is a total game-changer 🤩. They're really bringing Frida Kahlo's life to the stage in a way that's both authentic and innovative. I mean, Annabelle López Ochoa's idea of incorporating surrealistic elements and folk music from Mexico into the ballet is pure genius 🔥. And can we talk about how cool it is that they're highlighting Frida's resilience and individuality? It's like, finally, her story is being told in a way that does justice to her legacy 💯.

But what I really love about this production is that it's not just about Frida, it's about the intersection of art and identity. López Ochoa said something so profound about how Frida's art was more important than she herself, and I'm totally here for it 🙌. It's like, we've been conditioned to think that our worth is tied to our creativity, but Frida proved us wrong by creating her own sense of self outside of the art world.

Anyway, if you haven't gotten tickets yet, what are you even doing with your life? Go see 'Broken Wings' ASAP 🎭

I don't know if I'd wanna shell out that cash to watch a ballet about Frida Kahlo. Don't get me wrong, she's an iconic artist and all, but isn't there like, a million art pieces out there already? This "Broken Wings" ballet just seems like another way for rich people to indulge in fancy dance moves 🤷‍♀️. And what's up with the surrealism? It just sounds like they're trying too hard to be artsy. I mean, can't they just stick to the story of her life and struggles instead of getting all weird and fantastical?

omg, I'm so down for this! a ballet about Frida Kahlo's life sounds like an amazing experience 🌹💃🏻. I love how the coreographer Annabelle López Ochoa is pushing the boundaries of storytelling through dance and art 🎨. it's awesome that she's drawing inspiration from Frida's words and paintings to create something so unique 🤯. and can we talk about the music? a mexican folk soundtrack sounds like the perfect accompaniment to this emotional journey 😌. I'm definitely going to check out "Broken Wings" when it comes to my city, it looks like a must-see performance 🎭.
