the whole thing is just heartbreaking... 50 miles per hour through a crowded park? that's insane! and to think he had a master's degree in psychology, too... you'd think someone with that level of knowledge would know better. 
anyway, life sentence is basically a lifetime away from the people he's taken from... poor Lucille and Herman

, still trying to process what happened on that fateful July 4th 
. Can't believe some people think it's okay to drink and drive - what a sick thought process 
. And to make matters worse, the guy was even supposed to be working with substance abuse victims, like, he had a degree in psychology... how does that even happen? 
. I know the DA's office is trying to stay strong for the families, but honestly, it feels like this tragedy could've been prevented if someone just kept an eye on him while he was driving .
. Anyway, can't believe we need to go through all this drama again . Can't our roads just be safe already? 
. I keep thinking about Lucille and Herman Pinkney, mom and son who were just trying to enjoy their July 4th BBQ 
... and then Daniel Hyden comes along with his drunk driving skills . His actions are just so senseless and avoidable . I've heard of people getting drunk and driving before, but this is just on another level . And now he's facing a life sentence, which is kinda fitting, I guess 
. As for the DA's statement, I get it - they're trying to honor the victims' memories 
... but can't we all just take responsibility for our own actions and not hurt others in the process? 
. I mean, he's already lost his license to drive like 10 years ago, and you'd think that would've been enough of a wake-up call. But nope, he still chooses to get behind the wheel after having a few too many drinks 
. The fact that he was driving at over 50 miles per hour through a park full of people is just mind-boggling - what's going through his head?! 
. I'm all for second chances, but you can't bring yourself to drive drunk and expect to get one . The DA's office is spot on in calling out his actions as "horrific" - yeah, that's the only way to describe it .
It's like he was on the right path, but then he made some choices that completely derailed him. Anyways, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for those families and hoping that justice gets served on December 3rd
