Wuthering Heights review – too hot, too greedy adaptation guarantees bad dreams in the night

ugh I just saw this movie with my bf and I'm still trying to process how much I was disappointed lol we both loved the fashion aspects but for me it felt like they prioritized having hot people on screen over actually telling the story 🤷‍♀️ I mean I get that Margot Robbie is gorgeous but at what cost? her character's desires just felt so shallow and self-indulgent to me 😒 Jacob Elordi tried hard though, I can see why Heathcliff was the better cast choice for him 💁‍♀️ anyway, I have to say that their love story just didn't resonate with me like it did in the book 📖 maybe it's cuz I'm a sucker for romance novels and I loved how the original Wuthering Heights had more depth? still, I gotta agree that Emerald Fennell's vision was kinda weird 🤪 this film felt more like a music video than an actual movie 🎥

I just saw this movie adaptation of Wuthering Heights and I gotta say, it was like watching a fashion show instead of a love story 🤔. I mean, I loved Margot Robbie's performance as Cathy, she was so fiery and passionate, but it felt like her character's feelings were being showcased more for the camera than to really convey the emotions of the scene. And Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff was good, but he just couldn't save the film from feeling all over the place. It was like they took a 200-page book and condensed it into 2 hours of style over substance. I also missed some important characters like Hindley Earnshaw, it's like they forgot to include them altogether. And what was up with the tone, one minute it's funny and next minute it's super romantic...it just didn't feel right. I think if they focused more on the story and less on the style, this movie could've been great, but as it stands it feels like a waste of time 📺

im not sure what i'd want from a wuthering heights film anymore 🤔 they really missed the point of the story. the whole thing just felt like one big fashion show with some drama thrown in. margot robbie was pretty great but even she couldn't save this mess 😐

omg i'm so disappointed in this adaptation 🤕👎 i mean i loved emily brontë's book and was super excited to see it come to life on screen but this film just felt like a fashion show 🛍️ instead of a real story about two people who are literally destroyed by their love for each other 💔 i got so bored with all the over-the-top drama and cheesy romance 😴 margot robbie's cathy was supposed to be my girl but her character felt so shallow and self-absorbed 🤷‍♀️ i also loved jacob elordi as heathcliff but even he couldn't save this film from its overall mess 🌪️

omg i totally agree w/ this review 🤯 i mean dont get me wrong emerald fennell is def a talented director but i think shes more concerned w/ makin her own statement than actually tellin the story she wants 2 tell 🤑 margot robbie's portrayal of cathy is SO shallow btw and jacob elordi cant save his own brooding intensity from lookin like it was 2 much lol. and omg that lack of attention 2 detail is soooo not ok. its like shes thinkin everyone w/ dark skin is somehow less worthy of being a character 🙅‍♂️ the tone is wild too, cant decide if its campy or romancic lol sounds like more of a music vid than an actual movie 🎥
